VALENTINE OVERDRIVE:

So Nigerians went on overdrive mode to celebrate this year's Valentine. The scenes out of Victoria Island today (all day) has been like that of a post - Armageddon stampede.

Was it because some people who usually will leave their cars at home wanted to impress their partners later tonight? or was it simply about overzealous driving all to meet up with dates, deliveries and surprises?

Whatever the case had been today, Lagos was locked down, this time not by fuel crisis or Fulani herdsmen but by Valentine. People trekked, cars parked on major roads with the ignition switched off, bus stops loaded and every nook and cranny seeming like makeshift flash-mob.

The most annoying of it all was the guy that used 20,000 Nigerian Naira to buy a fresh flower for a colleague. How could you waste 20k on flowers that will die tonight? This dude can be categorized as one of those who has plagued Victoria Island with traffic today.

As an African, I think the dude is not smart. FLOWER......?

But what's my business anyway.
Lemme face this traffic!
